About Converge

Converge, formed in 1990 in Massachusetts, stands as a pioneering force in hardcore and metalcore music. Fronted by vocalist Jacob Bannon, the band carved out a distinct identity by fusing hardcore punk roots with complex elements of mathcore and post-hardcore. Over the decades, Converge has earned a reputation for their intense sound, relentless energy, and boundary-pushing creativity.

A significant milestone in their career came with the 2021 collaborative album "Bloodmoon: I," which marked a bold expansion beyond their traditional four-piece setup. This ambitious project united Converge with dark folk and ambient artist Chelsea Wolfe, her partner Ben Chisholm, and Cave In’s Steve Brodsky. The partnership was born from mutual admiration, with Bannon discovering Wolfe’s music through her album Apokalypsis and forging connections that dated back to 2009. Their collaboration came to fruition during a transformative 2016 European tour and a standout performance at the renowned Roadburn Festival, where they reinvented Converge’s catalog with sweeping, atmospheric arrangements.

"Bloodmoon: I" exemplifies Converge’s ongoing evolution, seamlessly blending their raw hardcore intensity with moody, expansive textures. Their commitment to innovation and artistic growth has solidified Converge’s status as one of the most influential and respected acts in heavy music history.
