    Description
Jazz by Candlelight transforms Manchester's most beautiful venues into intimate Jazz Clubs, bathing the space in candlelight to provide the perfect backdrop for some sublime jazzy sounds. We seek out the best talent in the UK, who for this special edition will be playing a tribute to the works of American singer-songwriter Ray Charles. Often referred to as "The Genius", Charles pioneered the soul music genre during the 1950s by combining blues, jazz, rhythm and blues, and gospel styles. He also contributed to the integration of country music, rhythm and blues, and pop music during the 1960s, and became one of the first black musicians to be granted artistic control by a mainstream record company. Sit back, relax, and enjoy a history lesson on one of the most influential and acclaimed figures in the world of jazz.
