Chopin: Polonaise Heroique, op.53
Liszt: Concert Etude “Un Sospiro”
Liszt: Hungarian Rhapsody no.12
Description
The two stars of this program, Chopin and Liszt, are two of the greatest composers of the Romantic era and were notably dear friends who admired one another greatly. Together, they elevated and completely transformed the art of piano to unprecedented heights. In their piano works, the pianist is dared to become the most versatile actor before one's very eyes, going from the most delicate and intimate moments of Nocturne in C-sharp and Liebestraum to music of beastly superpowers of the Polonaise Heroique and Hungarian Rhapsody no.12. This evening, their creations will be interpreted by talented Armenian concert pianist Kariné Poghosyan. She is the recipient of glowing praise internationally, most notably from pianist Jed Disler and Oscar winner Alex Dinelaris, and has even played the prestigious Carnegie Hall. Just sit back, turn up the volume and enjoy.
