Hereβs your chance to learn how to make a traditional Latin and South American dish! Chef Nelma, a vegan nutrition student and owner of her own plant-based catering company in Houston, will take you through the process of making your own vegan empanadas from scratch during this plant-based virtual cooking class. No experience is required! Empanadas, thought to have originated in Spain, are pastries traditionally filled with seafood, meat, cheese, vegetables or fruit. Eaters of all types are welcome to join this class, as Chef Nelma will provide recipe substitutions to appeal to the carnivores in your household too. Prepare your mise-en-place ahead of the session (see instructions in the ingredients/equipment list), grab a glass of your favorite drink, and letβs get cooking!
