π€ Our speaker, Dr. Anna Machin, is an evolutionary anthropologist whose area of specialist research is the science behind human prosocial behaviour. Today she is a visiting academic within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Oxford Brookes University where she continues her research into human love, fatherhood and the impact of AI and social media on our relationships. While grounded in evolutionary theory her work is multi-disciplinary taking in aspects of neuroscience, psychology, social anthropology, genetics and behavioural science.

Love is a phenomenon that has fascinated humanity ever since it came into existence. If the meaning behind that fuzzy feeling in your chest still eludes you, fret not: Fever Talks is here to answer your questions! Evolutionary anthropologist Dr. Anna Machin has worked at the University of Oxford and was an on-screen expert for Channel 4 and the BBC, so she knows a thing or two about the science of love. In this talk, she will explain all about the neurotransmitters that help us form bonds, covering the basis of human romantic behaviour and explaining why some of us are better at relationships.
