Description
This year’s edition of NYC Winter Jazzfest will see four upcoming UK jazz acts perform at Le Poisson Rouge. This year’s acts include. Kokoroko, Moses Boyd, Poppy Ajudha and Sarathy Korwar. Celebrating Detroit’s jazz history and the legacy of late trumpeter Marcus Belgrave, the evening begins with a conversation led by author and historian Mark Stryker on the rich history of Detroit Jazz. You’ll get to see and hear the likes of Ron Carter, Louis Hayes and Sheila Jordan joined with Detroit-born pianist Johnny O’Neal. Marcus Belgrave’s protégés will be closing the festival once again, in the ensemble “Taking it Forward” with Robert Hurst, Karriem Riggins, Ali Jackson, JD Allen, Dwight Adams, Theo Croker, Greg Glassman, Kevin Sholar, and joined by Kassa Overall!
