Description
See climate change depicted through dance. MOVEIUS Contemporary Balletβs New York premiere of its nationally-acclaimed ballet brings a trio of climate-inspired works that unite art and activism to New York Climate Week. GLACIER: A Climate Change Ballet imagines dancers as melting polar ice caps. The dancers ripple, crack, and plunge amidst live video projections, creating movement that connects the audience-member to the impact of global warming. The other two works include Rite of Spring, Crash of Fall which plays off Stravinskyβs score to explore the 2008 financial collapse, and a new piece, tentatively titled Ground Control, which is inspired by the first pictures taken of Earth from space.
