Description
Enter the Isarphilharmonie as the Bach Collegium Munich brings Johann Sebastian Bach's Christmas Oratorio to life with Cantatas I-III and VI (BWV 248) in a festive concert setting.
For decades, the Choir & Orchestra Bach Collegium Munich has been a guarantee for the performance of the great Bach oratorios in Munich. During this time, renowned amateur choirs such as the Mainz Bach Choir, the Neubeuern Choir Community and the Munich Bach Choir have participated in the performances.
Since the 2019/2020 concert season, the Choir & Orchestra Bach Collegium Munich has decided, in cooperation with the three Bavarian music universities Munich, Nuremberg and Würzburg, to build a professional choir of highly gifted vocal students and henceforth perform the sacred music of the Thomas Cantor and other composers as Choir & Orchestra Bach Collegium Munich. The development of the choir was made possible thanks to the generous support of the long-standing patron and curator of the Munich Concert Association, Johannes Burges. This enables an outstanding achievement in the promotion of highly gifted talent to be delivered.
