A driverless car has taken a life - and someone must answer for it. The programmer who wrote the code, the passenger who trusted the machine, or the AI that made the call? There is no precedent. There is no roadmap. There is no easy answer.

🚩This experience includes themes and testimony related to death resulting from a vehicle accident, references to injury and fatality, testimony involving grief and loss. The performance contains moments of intense emotional conflict.

What is The Jury Experience?

An immersive courtroom drama where you become part of the story as a juror. Analyze testimonies, cross-examinations, and evidence to uncover the truth. Your vote will determine the accused’s fate in this high-stakes theatrical event.

How long does it last?

Approximately 65 minutes.

How do I vote?

You will be handed a paddle at the start. When instructed by the Judge, raise it to submit your vote.

Are seats numbered?

Seats will be assigned to you at the entrance by our staff on a first-come, first-served basis within the section you selected.

Is there sensitive content?

Yes — this experience may explore mature themes including ethical dilemmas, fatal accidents, and legal pressure. Performances contain moments of intense emotional conflict.

Will there be strobe lights?

No, there will not be any strobe lights.

About your tickets
How do I find my ticket?

No need to print. Your ticket will be validated via the Fever app on arrival. Log in with the same account used to purchase.

Are refunds or exchanges allowed?

No refunds. You may change your date up to 24 hours in advance — contact us with your ticket ID or use the Exchange option in the Fever app.

Where can I buy tickets?

On the Fever App (Apple App Store or Google Play) or the Fever website. Not available at the venue.

Can I transfer my tickets?

Yes, for free. Click “Transfer tickets” in the Fever app, or contact us with your ticket ID.

Can I book a ticket for my carer?

Yes — 1 free pass for a Personal Assistant/Support Worker. Contact us and we will provide a voucher. Show both tickets at the venue entrance.

Where is the venue?

John Kani Theatre, The Market Theatre, 138 Lilian Ngoyi Street, Newtown, Johannesburg 2001. One of South Africa’s most iconic theatre venues.

When should I arrive?

Arrive at least 30 minutes early. Doors close 5 minutes before the start — late arrivals will not be admitted.

Is there an age requirement?

12+. Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult and requires a ticket.

Is the venue accessible?

Yes, the event is held in an accessible venue.

Are food and drinks available?

Yes — drinks and snacks are available for purchase on site.

Is there parking?

Secure undercover parking is available at the Newtown Junction Mall (corner of Miriam Makeba and Gwigwi Mrwebi Street). Flat rate of R10 on weekends. Street parking is also available with signage directing patrons to the theatre.

Can I use my phone during the performance?

No — phones must be in silent mode for the entire performance.

Can I take photos or record?

Photos and videos may only be taken during the curtain call, without flash.

Are service animals allowed?

Yes. No other pets permitted.
