From his early Yorkshire landscapes to his iPad paintings and beyond – six decades of David Hockney's work, brought to life through large-scale projection and spatial sound in a show made in close collaboration with the artist himself. This is Hockney at his most personal, most expansive, and most joyous.

Six Captivating Chapters

Six distinct chapters move through Hockney's restless imagination: his obsession with light, his reinvention of perspective, his embrace of new technologies, and his enduring belief that truly looking at the world is one of life’s great pleasures.

Music by Nico Muhly

The show's original score was composed by Nico Muhly, one of the most acclaimed composers of his generation. Sound and image work together to draw you deeper into Hockney's world.

Produced by Lightroom, the show moves through six chapters – from his early figurative work to his digital paintings – in a continuous, enveloping experience set to an original score by Nico Muhly. Hockney’s lifelong fascination with how we see the world comes vividly to life here: an invitation to look more closely, more truly, and more joyously.
