I’ve been accused of exaggerating and making things up in my arguments, of opining without having done my homework. And of laughing at things I apparently shouldn’t be laughing at… And, honestly, I plead guilty to it all.
But I don’t care, because every night I keep getting up on that stand to tell my best version of the facts, and my most controversial opinions, with a single argument in my favour: the laughter of the audience. So tonight the truth doesn’t matter, but whether you decide to acquit me.
There will come a time in the show when we switch roles. There is an extra hearing in which people who want to participate put their case in writing: a couple’s argument, a conflict with a friend, something you disagree with or want to call into question… That’s when the rest of the audience and I will pass sentence.
The court is now in session. Are you ready to see me lose my mind?
