The Taco 5K is a fun, community-focused walking event that celebrates Tucson’s incredible taco scene—one taco stop at a time. Branded as the “World’s Slowest 5K,” this is not a race. It’s a relaxed, social experience designed for friends, families, couples, and taco lovers of all ages.
Participants will follow a curated route of approximately 2–3 miles, stopping at 4 (possibly more) local taco shops and restaurants along the way. Your event bib is your ticket to enjoy a taco at each stop included with registration. Starts are staggered to keep things moving smoothly and avoid congestion.
Along the route, expect music, lighthearted games, and fun challenges, plus plenty of opportunities to laugh, take photos, and enjoy the moment. Costumes are encouraged—taco-themed outfits, festive flair, or anything that adds to the fun.
You don’t need to eat a taco at every stop—pace yourself and enjoy the experience your way. Volunteers will be stationed throughout the route to help with directions and safety, and participants are asked to stay on sidewalks and be mindful of the surrounding community.
