Metropolitan Opera Summer HD Festival

Going to the opera is a quintessential New York thing, but it's super expensive. So here's your chance to see it for free. The Met’s popular Summer HD Festival, first presented in 2009, is returning with screenings of 10 productions from the company’s Peabody and Emmy Award-winning Live in HD series. The operas will be shown outdoors in Lincoln Center Plaza on ten consecutive nights—from August 28 to September 6—for free. -Screenings run 8:30-11pm every night -2,800 seats will be available, first come first served -No rain dates
