Twisted Pearl

• Twisted Pearl is a Montreal-based ensemble made up of young string instrumentalists and composers, specializing in the performance of 18th-century music as well as the creation of original works inspired by historical styles, primarily composed by the ensemble’s members. Our vision is to make this music more accessible and enjoyable for a wide audience.
• In this concert specially designed for the Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Cœur Chapel, we present a selection of Baroque works originally written for chapels, along with brand-new pieces composed by members of Twisted Pearl, which you will be among the very first to discover. The beauty of this music lies in its ability to embody emotions and bring them to life for both the performer and the listener.

Jonathan Ethier

• Under the direction of jazz guitarist Jonathan Ethier, the Jonathan Ethier Trio elegantly revisits great standards, swing, and Latin rhythms, while adding a modern touch to more recent pieces. The trio features Marcin Garbulinski on double bass and Éric Thibodeau on drums, forming a rhythm section that is both flexible and powerful. Together, they create a vibrant atmosphere where virtuosity and the joy of playing come together. An experienced guitarist, Jonathan Ethier has accompanied jazz singer Susie Arioli and has performed at venues such as the Olympia in Paris, Le Duc des Lombards, and the Montreal International Jazz Festival.
