Program – Beethoven & Mozart Patrons
Mozart: Piano Quartet in G minor (1st movement)
Beethoven: Symphony No. 3 “Eroica” (1st movement)
Mozart: Piano Concerto No. 24 (2nd & 3rd movements)
Beethoven: Symphony No. 5 (1st movement)

This concert is dedicated to the donors of Mécénat Musica who have contributed to the Orchestre de l’Agora and HausMusique Endowment Fund. The program, centered on Mozart and Beethoven, illustrates their transition from court musicians to independent artists, supported by publishers, public concerts, and patronage. Mozart composed both to please publishers and to fund his own concerts, while also writing lighter pieces for the imperial court. Beethoven created the “Eroica” Symphony thanks to Prince Lobkowitz and cemented his position in Vienna with Archduke Rudolf and other patrons. These pieces of music remind us that the boldness of composers and the vision of patrons have allowed these masterpieces to resonate to this day.
