⭐🆕SPECIAL About Berlanga🆕⭐
About Berlanga is a digital and contemporary audiovisual project that takes as its starting point the cinematic universe of Berlanga and its soundtracks, in order to build a critical audiovisual landscape centered on nostalgia, collective memory, and remembrance.
The piece begins with three of the most iconic soundtracks by Miguel Asins Arbó: Plácido, El Verdugo, and Bienvenido Mr. Marshall, reinterpreted through musical deconstruction and electronic processing by sound artist Edu Comelles. The result is a soundscape where the noise of old tape recorders and vintage speakers converses with musical dreamscapes that awaken memories of melodies that have become part of a shared cultural imagination.
Visual artist Sergi Palau contributes his vision by selecting and digitally processing images and sequences from those same three films. He creates a new narrative that stays true to their original social message and, combined with the musical piece, transports Berlanga’s universe to a new and poetic dimension.
