Description
Scowl made a name for themselves in the rock scene with their debut album How Flowers Grow (2021), where they expanded their sound by mixing hardcore-punk with elements like saxophone and floral arrangements, as heard in the track "Psychic Dance Routine." With an uncomplicated sound, the band draws influences from Sonic Youth and The Strokes, while addressing themes of alienation and loneliness. They return to the stage in 2025 with Are We All Angels, their second studio album, set for release in April. In this project, they explore new directions and bend the genre norms, marking a clear evolution as they tone down some of the aggression from their previous work in favor of a more textured and sometimes delicate approach.
