CLOSING TODAY. See it to believe it. Creative Time presents the first large-scale public project by the internationally renowned artist Kara Walker. Located in Brooklyn’s legendary Domino Sugar Refinery, Walker's sculpture, a massive sphinx-like figure, is made of 330 polystyrene blocks, coated by hand in 80 tons of sugar. Walker titles the work as an homage to the unpaid and overworked artisans who have refined our sweet tastes from the cane fields to the kitchens of the new world.
