Yasmina Reza's contemporary classic, ARTE, celebrates its 30th anniversary with an updated version directed by Gabriel Olivares and starring Leo Rivera, Dani Huarte-Mendicoa and Fran Nortes. The play, which explores the conflicts between three friends caused by their differing perceptions of contemporary art, uses the purchase of a blank painting as a catalyst for tensions in their friendship. Although at its premiere it faced criticism for being considered anti-modernist and an attack on the art world, ARTE is a satire that reveals bourgeois social hypocrisy.
