Program Piano Concert: Yulianna Avdeeva
F. CHOPIN:
Yulianna Avdeeva gained worldwide recognition at the 2010 Chopin Competition, where she won the First Prize. A pianist of fiery temperament and virtuosity, Avdeeva plays with strength, conviction and sensitivity, and has won over audiences around the world. Yulianna's most recent recording, "Resilience" [Pentatone], focuses on the story of composer Wladyslaw Szpilman, whose album includes music by Prokofiev, Shostakovich and Weinberg. In the coming months, Yulianna will be making a new recording of late works by Liszt and late pieces by Chopin, along with Sonata No. 2, at Lindsey Hinmon Hall at the Tippet Rise Art Center in Montana, which has superb acoustics. Yulianna, one of Europe's favorite artists, has performed concerts at the Warsaw Philharmonic, the Rudolfinum in Prague, the Pierre Boulez Saal in Berlin, the Konzerthaus in Vienna and the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg.
