Description
Known as both the lead singer and founding member of Irish rock band The Frames and as one half of folk duo The Swell Season, along with Czech pianist and vocalist Markéta Irglová, Glen Hansard has ventured in recent years to further his solo career. The Irishman forged his career as a street musician, just like his character in the film Once, which made him one of the few independent songwriters to have won an Oscar for Best Original Song Falling Slowly. The composer will present live his new album, All That Was East Is West of Me Now. Probably Hansard's most rocking work since The Frames' Burn the Maps era. While the passage of time may be a central theme, the narrative of the LP's eight tracks focuses more on the future than thoughts of regret or nostalgia. Want to hear it live?
