Description
Museum The Ship is the model for the architectural movement The Amsterdam School. At this museum, you'll learn about the history of social housing in the 20th century, take a free tour, see a reconstruction of a hovel, and more. The Amsterdam School architectural style originated around 1910 and was prominent in the Netherlands until the 1930s. Also visit the permanent exhibition Amsterdam School, imagined ideals, which showcases the architecture and decorative arts that were so crucial to the movement. In addition, see a number of temporary exhibitions and take a free tour of the former post office and a reconstruction of a hovel, complete with original interior. You can officially call yourself "educated" after this!
