Enter the world of the renowned Catalan artist Joan Miró at the Joan Miró Foundation in Barcelona. With a unique vision of the world, and thanks to his use of bold colors and organic forms, Miró became one of the most influential figures in the art world. In 1968, Joan Miró had the idea of creating the foundation. I wanted to establish a center in Barcelona, of international reference, so that young artists could become involved in contemporary art. Respecting its original vision, the Foundation has a space ("Espai 13"), dedicated to the experimental work of young artists, as well as a large collection of works by Joan Miró. Currently, Miró Foundation exhibits some 15,000 pieces of art. You can find more than 8,000 drawings, 217 paintings and 178 sculptures, as well as ceramics, textiles or graphic works.
