Description
Come and express yourself with the art of Sumi-e (or Suibokuga)– an East Asian art form that has been practiced for over a thousand years and uses an ink wash-painting technique. Using the fewest possible strokes, Sumi-e aims to depict the spirit or essence of an object or scene, seeing through the superficiality of outward appearance. During this contemplative class, you'll begin with the basics of ink-wash painting. Ink, brushes and calligraphy paper are all provided, whether you choose to do the class from the comfort of your own home, or in Japanese cultural center Resobox in the heart of Queens.
