Yellow Star Company presents The Vagina Monologues, by American author Eve Ensler, with new texts, a new cast and directed by Paulo Sousa Costa. In its first version, the play was seen by over 150,000 people in more than 45 locations. The Yellow Star Company returns to the scene with this comedy that allows us to uncover how each woman deals with the experience, tackling subjects such as sex, prostitution, body image, Amor amor, rape, female genital mutilation, masturbation, birth, orgasm, the various common names for the vagina or simply as a physical part of the female body. A recurring theme throughout the play is the vagina as a tool for female empowerment and the ultimate embodiment of individuality. "The Vagina Monologues" are real, raw and funny stories that reveal a little more about the disconcerting female universe.
