Åbo Svenska Teater

Åbo Svenska Teater in Turku, Finland, is the country's oldest theatre, opened in 1839. Designed by Pehr Johan Gylich with a neoclassical façade by Carl Ludvig Engel, it stands by Turku's Market Square. Though damaged in the 1827 Great Fire, it was restored and remains a key cultural site. The ornate auditorium, rich in 19th-century elegance, offers an intimate setting for performances.
