Parque Quinta Normal

The Parque Quinta Normal in Santiago, Chile is a historic urban park located between the streets Santo Domingo, Matucana, Portales and Las Encinas in the city’s western side. Spanning roughly 35–40 hectares, it was founded in the early 1840s and later declared a Nature Sanctuary in 1976 due to its wide variety of native and exotic tree species. The park is a favorite destination for families and locals, offering features like a lagoon with boat rentals, plenty of green space for strolls or picnics, and a rich cultural layer thanks to the museums located within or adjacent to its grounds. While exact visitor numbers are not widely published, tourism sources describe the park as being “visited annually by thousands of people” drawn by its museums and recreational features.
