Cloaca Maxima
The Cloaca Maxima is an ancient Roman sewer system connecting the Roman Forum and Circus Maximus. Built in the 6th century BC with Etruscan vaulted arches, it is a remarkable work of Roman engineering still in operation after over 2600 years.
