The Mammoth Site

Set within the Black Hills, this active paleontological site contains the world’s largest concentration of mammoth remains. A climate-controlled facility protects a prehistoric sinkhole, allowing research to continue in situ. Inside, a sense of quiet wonder prevails as the fossilized bones of Ice Age giants emerge from the earth where they were originally trapped thousands of years ago.
