Castle Williams
Castle Williams, is a circular red sandstone fort on Governors Island, New York City, built between 1807 and 1811. It pioneered coastal defense design. Once a fort, barracks, and prison, it now offers great harbor views and a glimpse into America’s military history within Governors Island National Monument.
