National Theatre Okinawa

The National Theatre Okinawa opened in Urasoe City, Okinawa, in January 2004. Its purpose is to preserve and promote traditional Okinawan performing arts, including the nationally designated Important Intangible Cultural Property "Kumi Odori." Leveraging Okinawa's unique geographical and historical characteristics, it also aims to serve as a hub for cultural exchange in the Asia-Pacific region through traditional culture.
