Teatro Niccolini

The Niccolini, previously Teatro del Cocomero, is the oldest theater in Florence and the first 'modern' theater in Europe. Its origin dates back to the mid-seventeenth century, when a group of nobles rented rooms in the Ughi Palace on Via del Cocomero to build the theater. In the 1970s and 1980s, it hosted artists like Vittorio Gassman, Carmelo Bene, and Paolo Poli.
