Cathedral Santa Maria Assunta
The Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption Cathedral in Ajaccio, built at the end of the 16th century, is one of the most emblematic religious monuments of the city. It is especially known as the baptismal site of Napoleon Bonaparte in 1771, which gives it significant historical importance. It symbolizes both the religious identity of Ajaccio and Corsica's attachment to its historical and artistic heritage.
