National Historical Museum - Old Parliament House

The building of the National Historical Museum (Old Parliament House) dominates Stadiou Street in the centre of Athens. It is a neoclassical building founded in 1858 by the then Queen Amalia to a design by the French architect Florimond Boulanger, and inaugurated in 1875, after the design was simplified by the architect Panagiotis Kalkos. Since 1962 it has housed the National Historical Museum of the Historical and Ethnological Society of Greece.
